March 22, 2023 | Two Best of Show winners were named today at the International Battery Seminar, Orlando, Fla., recognizing both the best new product in the battery industry and the best poster on display at the event.

Best of Show New Product Award

Amprius Technologies (booth 105) won the Best of Show new product award for their High-Energy Silicon Anode Lithium-ion Battery, CL75.

In the company’s own description, Amprius Technologies is at the forefront of transforming electric mobility with its revolutionary Silicon Anode lithium-ion battery. It is the first and only company to commercialize 450 Wh/kg, 1150 Wh/L lithium-ion batteries. Amprius is powering a new era, offering a drop-in replacement for conventional lithium-ion batteries while delivering up to 80% higher energy density. Leveraging its patented silicon anode platform, the company’s commercially proven batteries deliver unmatched performance: ultra-high energy density, high power density, extremely fast charge rate capability, wide operating temperature, and long cycle life. Amprius has shipped over 10,000 batteries to the US Army, Airbus, FLIR, AeroVironment, and BAE Systems, among others.

All of the products considered for the International Battery Seminar Best of Show award were newly released—or significantly improved—since March 2022. Exhibiting companies entered their products for consideration in advance of the event, and the International Battery Seminar community voted on the winner during the event.

Best of Show Poster Awards

In addition to recognizing Best of Show New Products, the event community also chose a Best of Show Poster winner. Out of more than 70 research posters, poster 59, presented by Tom Ruether of University of Bayreuth, was chosen as the winner: Data-Driven Impedance Analysis of Lithium-Ion Batteries for the Study of Aging and Performance Again. The poster winner was named during the plenary session on Wednesday, March 22.
