ASCO Power Technologies, the world’s leading provider of critical power solutions, debuts the ASCO 5702 Power Management Gateway. This device offers an advanced power management platform for hospitals and medical facilities in a single, stand-alone, industrial-grade product that is easy to deploy. The 5702 Gateway provides state-of-the-art capabilities for monitoring and testing critical power equipment, evaluating power conditions, notifying key personnel, and streamlining Joint Commission and NFPA compliance.

Scalable to a Wide Range of Applications

The ASCO 5702 can monitor and control up to 256 power devices in small and large critical power systems alike. The device is especially suited for healthcare facilities, where it can serve a small walk-in clinic, a larger outpatient surgical facility, or a hospital and its adjoining buildings on a medical campus. In any application, the 5702 Gateway centralizes monitoring and testing functions and enables remote testing of engine-generators, transfer switches, power control systems, and other equipment.

OT and IT Integration

The 5702 aggregates device information from most major power equipment manufacturers. It intelligently assesses power equipment conditions, and then sends alarms, notifications, and data to building and facility management systems, IT management systems, and alarm and annunciation equipment. Its built-in data mapping enables the 5702 to connect directly with equipment from most manufacturers to reduce system integration work. Using IEC 62443 protocols, users are assigned one of four password-protected security levels. Microsoft Active Directory eases management of users and their security permissions.

Advanced Power Management

The 5702 Gateway logs power usage data, enabling users to monitor the current state of power equipment, evaluate data recorded about its operation, and adjust operation to optimize power system performance. Adding Power Quality Meters enables forensic analysis of power events with microsecond resolution. Custom one-line diagrams provide interactive screens showing the state of devices and circuits.

The 5702 Gateway also offers ASCO’s new PlayBack capability. This feature uses logged data to visually replicate power events on one-line diagrams, enabling users to see power system events for forensic analysis, predicative simulation, and operator training.

Streamlined Regulatory Compliance

The 5702 can recognize when outages meet run-time and loading criteria for backup power system testing, then use the data to generate test reports that comply with Joint Commission and NFPA standards. This capability streamlines compliance and reduces the quantity of disruptive and costly test events.

Power Administration Expertise

To maximize uptime and operational efficiency, the 5702 Gateway can interact with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert software module. This software manages equipment maintenance, allocates energy costs, administers efficiency programs, compiles sustainability metrics, and evaluates power demand and power factor penalties.

“The 5702 Gateway is the simplest, most cost-effective way to introduce full facility power management capabilities because its data mapping features streamline system integration,” says Mario Ibrahim, ASCO’s Director of New Products & Innovation. “It’s the fastest way to gain insight for maximizing availability, increasing efficiency, and improving safety for critical power systems. It’s especially valuable in mission-critical applications, and we’re sure healthcare facilities will take notice.”

The ASCO 5702 Power Management Gateway uses the latest innovations from ASCO’s PowerQuest® product lineup, which provides a broad range of solutions for managing mission-critical power assets.
